Damn, what a session!

The group really hit its stride today. We took on a new member, Amanda, who played in her first table top RPG session. For a newcomer she took to it pretty well. We had two scenes which were entirely player generated, and Amanda created the first one. After being captured she was entirely self-rescuing (N.B.: when putting somebody in a prison, it's good to remember that she can lift a bar on a door without having to touch it). A quick investigation of her prison turned into a full blown jail break (also, put some guards on her next time).

The second character generated scene occurred when the boys went to investigate the site for a future hit and/or burglary. There were catastrophic failures when sneaking around, and some pretty danged impressive fights broke out. Thorp discovered that his new sabre had a resident spirit, one that was a gifted swordsman and a bit of a reckless lunatic (he's heard of Defense, it's what the other guy does).

There was also one heck of a fight near the beginning, where Lyria proved once again that while she might not be a combat monster, shes's pretty resourceful in a fight. The scene was two on four, and Lyria managed to get herself loose.

We also worked out the final thing we needed for our perfect gaming table. Any had a spare sheet of plexiglas or lexan lying around (we aren't sure which it is, but I'm leaning towards lexan), and we used that for a dry erase surface to draw combat maps on. It was perfect. We plan to build a prototype, and of course thoroughly play test it.
