Two hundred years ago, in the dark of one summer night, a star fell to the earth. As it fell, it split into hundreds of shards that fell like rain all over Shalyeun, and the world began to change.

Two hundred years later, pieces of the "Star of Destiny" continue to be found all over Shalyeun. They are jewel-like shards, valuable not only for their beauty, but for the fact that they hold within them magic, ranging from mundane to powerful. But the shards changed the creatures that roamed Shalyeun into dangerous monsters, and fending them off is a constant battle.

In the midst of things, Shalyeun has been consumed by a war.

In the south, the Jenaviir use the shards to power magical weapons and machines, and protect the people from the beasts that have been corrupted by the star's power. The Jenaviir believe that the shards are a gift from the gods, for they grant powerful magic to even those born without it – but for a price. The shards, though powerful, disrupt Shalyeun’s natural magic, and those who call on their power are forever denied its touch.

The Aldynni, on the other hand, believe that the shards are a curse, an affront to the gods. In the north, they have amassed an army - the Knights of the Flawless Heavens - who seek out the fragments to destroy them before the magic of Shalyeun is beyond repair.

These factions strive for control over the land, destroying or converting opposition, and the rest of the world struggles to get by as the monsters get more and more aggressive.

As these wars rage, something has begun to stir in the darkness beyond our world. It wants the star shards, and to get them, it will purge mankind from existence.

System is OVA, Using revised rules as they come. No equipment needed, as we'll be using AIM, which has it's own dice roller. You're welcome to make a character on your own, though I'd really prefer if you discussed it with me. A character sheet can be found on the "Characters" page of this book.

The setting will be mostly fantasy with some elements of sci-fi. For more, you can see the proceeding posts.

Once I've set a schedule and collected characters from everyone who wants to play, I'll update everyone. Until then, I'll keep posting various story- and setting-related things. We will be playing on Thursday evenings.
